Philosophy of Motion
One of the debates central to the Philosphy of motion is the problem of motion and the unmoved mover.
Aristotle argued that everything in the universe that moves is moved by something else.
To avoid an endless chain of causes, he proposed the Unmoved Mover an ultimate, unchangeable entity that causes all change and motion in the universe without moving itself.
Thomas Aquinas later used this exact concept of an unmovable first cause as the basis for his first philosophical proof of God's existence.
On the other hand Long before Aristotle, the Eleatic school argued that physical motion is logically impossible and merely an illusion of the sense.
My view on the subject is...
I think if anyone moves this bucket the space around it will get wet.
It will not be an illusion of the senses.
